I have been bitten
by the gardening bug. Please keep my plants in your prayers. They will thank you.
Braveheart
Today we took Tanay to Bowcraft Amusement Park. It’s a small place with rides mainly for kids. We started off with the regular train and boat rides. Then Tanay wanted to sit in the Frog Hopper. This is one of those free fall rides….. I would say about 20 feet high. (For those who don’t know this about me yet….. I can’t do these free fall things at all). So I asked...
This boy melts my heart!
Me: I am so bored. I miss Shubhu!
Tanay: It's ok Mumma. He will be back soon. Come, let me give you a hug!
Today's highlights.
After months of looking pretty on one of my laundry room shelves, the Magic Bullet was inaugurated today. If I meet the creator of the Candy Land game in the next couple of days, I might strangle him. Usually when Shubham is away, it’s Bacardi that keeps me sane. This time I have replaced it with Snapple Raspberry Iced Tea.
The Y earns some Brownie points.
We got back home from our weekly visit to the temple to find the message light blinking on the phone. It was from a very nice sounding lady at the local YMCA. Apparently we haven’t graced the gym with our presence lately and she wanted to check if everything was OK and, here’s the best part, if there was anything she could do to “entice our membership”. I am actually quite...
Why don’t boys seem to listen? Turns out their hearing is not as good as...
– Parenting, June 2008. Whew! that does make me feel a little better.
Wanna go for a ride?
At Tanay’s first birthday party, he received 5 ride-alongs as gifts. He must have sat on them a total of maybe ten times in the last two years. When my mom was visiting last summer, she was really keen on buying him a big boy bike. But every-time we took him to the toy store & asked him to pick one, he would go straight to the animal section and proceed to have a conversation with a...
And the office moves even closer.
Watching The Hills on the iMac - KICKASS!! Geeky husband moving his home office from the dining room right into my kitchen - Not so much. (shots fired!)
LOOK AT THE MESS YOU ARE MAKING!!! Mommy, she needs a time-out.
– Tanay to the nice girl giving him an haircut at Super Cuts.
All for a good cause. →
A couple of months ago, Nidhi asked me if I was interested in doing the Avon walk for Breast Cancer. I actually thought about it for a bit but then opted out for reasons best known to me (read laziness). Nidhi, on the other hand is committed to the cause and has even started training for it. Trust me people, this is not an easy task…… especially for a mom of 4 year old twin boys and I...
Me: What is Papa doing in the basement?
T: Microwaving his shirt.
Me: Huh??? what??
T: MICROWAVING HIS SHIRT.
Me: WHAT???
T: Making his shirt hot! Microwaving... Microwaving...!
Me: Oh! you mean ironing his shirt....!
T: Yeah.... same thing.
The Gods must be cursing me.
We came back home from school on Friday and Tanay asked for breakfast sausages for a snack. When I got them out of the freezer, something just didn’t seem right. The sausages were all soft and wobbly. On checking, I realised that every single food item had been compromised. So my first thought was that maybe I had over stuffed the freezer. I started taking stuff out and checking their expiry...
Hahaha….. that is Bob The Builder!
– Tanay on watching a video of Michael Jackson doing his signature moves.
“Oh my darling Anthropologie catalogue! you take my breath away….(heavy sigh)!”

Any dream readers out there?
This goes out to all my readers. Well….. actually just the four of you… but that sure sounded good! So… I have been having this recurring dream, where I have a very important test and I am not at all prepared for it. Either that or I have completely forgotten about the exam. And I get to the class and I am all sweaty and freaked out. This dream has been tormenting me since my...
Look Mommy!….. we have a new Papa!!
– Tanay on seeing Shubham in his wig. If you are wondering what he was doing in one in the first place, feel free to ask.
Shubham singing Lucky Lips in his sinister voice… Kill me… Kill me… NOW!
Stop singing Mommy…… Just drive the car!
– Tanay on my singing along to “Dil Dance Maare” from Tashan.
Gym Sounds.
This morning I found myself driving towards the gym for the second day in a row. This in itself is quite an achievement especially since neither of my friends were going to be there. So I made sure that I had my ipod and headphones with me and headed towards the treadmill. I look around and see half a dozen elderly and obese people sweating it out. Great! no pressure! No young, hot girl with the...

BREAKING NEWS!!
After watching the trailer of Steve Carell’s “Get Smart”, my super talented husband has decided to spend the day pretending to be a CIA agent. Not only that, he has realised that he is not even close to Carell when it comes to being funny. So he is aiming at a funny CIA agent. May God give me the strength to look past his flaws and a heightened sense of humor to laugh at his...
I had an “eureka” moment in the fitting room at Macy’s. I am never buying a full length mirror for my closet. Ignorance is bliss.
Fabulous jeans on sale at Macy’s for $10. Ofcourse, I cannot find a single one that does not make me look a stuffed eggplant!
Will Power? duh.... what's that?
It’s been sometime since I hauled my ass to the gym. 2 weeks to be exact. Also I have been pigging out all this time on some very interesting desi goodies, which has not been helping me in any way. So this morning, I gave myself a thorough lashing and swore that I would make up (or atleast try) for the lost days. I dropped T to school and bumped into my friend (A), who btw was looking so hot...
Me and Maasi having an insanely good time at the Revlon outlet store. Pooja.com…. You rock!
Wash by hand. Do not beat the shirt. Keep away from dhobi.

Carschooling →
car-schooling (kar SKOO.ling) noun. Educating or instructing a child while driving in a car. Also: car schooling or carschooling. I seriously thought that this was a trick word or one of those ‘Urban dictionary’ kind of words. Well… it turns out that not only is it a word, there is a book, dvds and an entire website dedicated to it. I am totally ashamed of my ignorance. After...
Am at T’s school and well…. he doesn’t want to go home. I have been asked to come back after a bit. Starbucks… here I come!
